Sprite fills in for Vodka.

Standard

Yesterday night I went to a high school prom. All around me I could see teenagers smoking, drinking, dancing. I was so bored the half of the party. I considered many times to call my dad to take me home, but my best friend wanted to stay.
Now, you have to understand that I hate crowds and that I am a little claustrophobic. A little more. So there I was in a crowd of hundreds of drunken teenagers, fearing for my life. ( not really, but…). Half the time I would look at everyone and judge all the kids there.
God, you are so stupid. I want to go home. What am I doing here? I shouldn’t be here. I want to stay on tumblr.
I couldn’t have a drink, because my stomach is a stupid fuck, so all i could drink was one Sprite. However, I am so glad I stayed.
Because the second half was amazing. A guy I adore sang and I got an autograph and a kiss and I was front row at the next band that performed.

A good start for a weekend, right? Stay tuned, and later I’ll come up with ideas how to spend a fun weekend πŸ™‚

Exams, Plato and Music.

Standard

Red eyes, caffeine supply, hundreds of written pages and nights unslept. Yap, it’s exams time again. Tomorrow it’s the start and we finish in two weeks. Five subjects, five test-papers and I can only hope for the best.
Tonight I am finished and I’ve done all I can for the tomorrow paper. Of course, otherwise I wouldn’t be here.
Point is… I wanted to share some music with you.
Why?
Easy. Because music is the best way to relax, to spend three minutes away from all the stress and just enjoy a good song. Even Plato says:

Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and charm and gaiety to life and to everything.

Between my personal favourites are Mika, Muse, Coldplay, Maroon 5, Arctic Monkeys and such. I’m sure you’ve all heard of them, but it’s my duty to formally introduce you to the music that touches my soul.

Cooking Tuesday: Apple Pie

Standard

That’s right! Today’s Tuesday soo…we’re cooking!! I thought to pick something less difficult but as delicious as the last dessert: Apple pie!! 😊
It is my dad’s favourite sweet in the world, so I though: Why not? It’s not that hard to cook, but definitely great.
( You may need the help of a friend or a parent to do it. But, it you’re skilled, you can even do it on your own!)

What we need:

Pastry for 2 crusts (recipe below)
8 cups sliced, peeled assorted baking apples – about 3 lbs. (Granny Smith, Cortland, Jonathan)
2 Tablespoons lemon juice
3/4 cup white sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
2 Tablespoons butter
1 egg yolk
1 Tablespoon milk

Directions:

1. In a large bowl, toss the sliced apples with lemon juice.

2. Combine sugars, flour, cinnamon and nutmeg; add to apples and toss well to coat.

3. Fill pastry lined 9 inch pie pan with apple mixture. Dot with butter.

4. Place second crust on top of pie filling, cut slits in top of crust to vent. Seal the edges of the crust with a fork or by hand.

5. In a small bowl, beat the egg yolk and milk. Brush mixture over top crust.

6. Bake at 425 degrees F for 15 minutes.

7. Reduce heat to 350 degrees F and bake 40-45 minutes more or until crust is golden and filling is bubbly.

THAT’S ALL!!
Come on, now you can do it yourself!
Good appetite🍎🍏🍰

26 November

Standard

A day like any other to most of you, no doubt. But to me… Well it is my birthday. I couldn’t just let the day pass without acknowledging this πŸ˜€
I am turning 16 years old. Which is little, I know, but right now it seems a lot. I am probably making no sense at all … But you see the shows like ‘My super sweet sixteen’ when you are little and you think, God, those kids are so big. There is so much til then. and apparently there wasn’t. It’s here, and happily I don’t feel different. At all.

So… If anyone else is born today I found some interesting facts about this day 😊

If You Were Born Today, November 26:

Although you possess considerable common sense, you do question accepted rules. You are a seeker, yet your feet are on the ground. You want to create your own destiny, and bumps and bruises along the way simply contribute to your growth, and you know it. Your emotions are up and down, although others may not always see this until they know you well. Your nature is irrepressible, yet you manage to earn others’ respect at the same time. Famous people born today: Charles Schulz, Rich Little, Tina Turner, Natasha Bedingfield, Robert Goulet.

Birthday or not, have a nice day!! ✌

I’m Van Gogh

Standard

Because tomorrow is my birthday the previous night I had a little sleepover with two friends. Funny enough three 16 year old girls ( we like to call ourselves mature from time to time ) ended up watching Ice Age while eating bacon and Pringles until 4 am in the morning.
Ok, it was fun. More than I’ve had in a while. We played games without STOPING and listened to Muse and The Kooks. So I could say my birthday was pretty good.
My mom couldn’t understand why I don’t want a party to invite more people, and I didn’t really know how to explain her that I don’t feel comfortable around so many people. Maybe it’s just me.

Anyway. If you ever have a sleepover I made a list of some activities you can do, after my own experience.

1. Play cards. Whoever loses must receive a dare.
Dare ideas ( we did those ) :
Cinnamon challenge ( eat a spoon full of cinnamon ).
Call someone and tell them the rules of monopoly.
Karaoke your favourite song.
Recite dramatically a poem.
Run outside singing ‘Baby’ by Justin Bieber.
Name all dwarves from Snow White in 30 sec. Those you couldn’t name will be written on you.
Eat cake without using your hands.
Put makeup on another person. blindfolded.
2. Watch a cartoon movie. ( or any movie, but those are more fun )
3. Game. You must write a known person, or a fictional one, on a piece of paper and stick it to the forehead of the player to your left. Stay in a circle all of you and try to guess who you are by asking Yes/No questions.

Those would be some ideas, but have fun discovering games you like, as well.

Have fun!!

Happy birthday, dear Doctor

Standard

Yesterday, as I heard news, has been the 50th anniversary of our most beloved sci-fi series, Doctor Who. The British series, going on for so long now, has definitely made history, while its main character, the doctor ( in all his transformations) as well as the companions have become memorable.
Matt Smith even mentioned that Rose ( Billie Piper) could return for the 50th anniversary celebration show!! ( which would be so, so perfect. Please let that happen)
In case you haven’t watched Doctor Who yet, I strongly advise you to. It mat seem like a strange story at first, but I guarantee you it’s worthy of your time. However, do mind that Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat are writing it. The two most soulless men in the universe.
This show will destroy your life ( in the best ways ) and make you fall in love with 30-40 year old British actors you will never be able to have. Watch it!! πŸ™‚

P.S. This show also has a fantastic fandom you can share your tears with.
