There are some quotes that you hear all the time, and seem to have lost their meaning. Many of them aren’t even true. But there are some cliches, that turn out to be quite right.
Everything happens for a reason.
If something bad happens, look at its bright side, try to see this event from another perspectice. Things have a very weird way of occuring, and a misfortune that spoiled two weeks of my summer, turned out to be a chance to start something beautiful.
You are what you eat.
Never trust people that don’t love chocolate.
Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars.
Hell, it’s very used, every person on Facebook has once posted this quote. But, it’s a good motto! And I like stars a lot. Actually, I’d prefer them over the moon.
If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.
Golden quote from Bambi that more people should go by nowadays.
Action speak louder than words.
Very, very true. It might be clichee, but what you do, how you act, showes so much more about your person than your words.
Red eyes, caffeine supply, hundreds of written pages and nights unslept. Yap, it’s exams time again. Tomorrow it’s the start and we finish in two weeks. Five subjects, five test-papers and I can only hope for the best.
Tonight I am finished and I’ve done all I can for the tomorrow paper. Of course, otherwise I wouldn’t be here.
Point is… I wanted to share some music with you.
Easy. Because music is the best way to relax, to spend three minutes away from all the stress and just enjoy a good song. Even Plato says:
Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and charm and gaiety to life and to everything.
Between my personal favourites are Mika, Muse, Coldplay, Maroon 5, Arctic Monkeys and such. I’m sure you’ve all heard of them, but it’s my duty to formally introduce you to the music that touches my soul.
Okay, so if you are reading this post you need to know I am a huge, huge fan of Sherlock ( BBC series and books). I know it’s ‘just a tv-show’ as the sane people call it, but, slowly it became an unhealthy obsession and I started guiding my life after what they say, and taking their every word as fact. For instance:
– I see but I do not observe.
– Basically everyone’s stupid.
– Brainy is the new sexy.
– Family is all we have in the end.
– Friends protect people.
– A disguise is always a self portrait.
– The memory is like an attic with finite space- False.
Or so said our psychology teacher. Of course, hearing that, it sort of destroys my thinking. So obviously I did some research. Apparently there are theories and theories. Some say it’s finite some disagree. According to my text book, there has not yet been discovered where is exactly our memory is. It’s not in our head, as most believe, most likely in our DNA. However, I tend to believe that the more useless information you gather you lose a bit of information you had previously gained, although not seizable.
Well, this had been some serious post.
To end in a good note, I propose to you a little mind exercise to put those lazy neurons to work:
Which day is 2 days before the day that follows immediate the day which is 3 days before the day that is 2 days after the day that is right before Friday?
Have fun, and drop a response in the comment box bellow and I’ll answer in two days. 🙂
Note: My obsession to Sherlock is not /that/ unhealthy. Yet.
